About Hadsheet Souk Alleys

The name "Hadsheet" has diverse historical origins. In Phoenician, it stems from "Hadash," which translates to "new moon" or "half-moon," giving Hadsheet the meaning of "new one" or "new village." Additionally, according to Syriac traditions, Hadsheet is associated with one of the six temples reportedly constructed by Batlimos the 5th, King of Egypt, in Mount Lebanon, as documented in Sheikh Antonios Abi Khattar's book "The Synopsis of Lebanon's History."
